Private log cabins feature two double beds with feather duvets, propane heaters, wash basin area and solar powered lighting. Licensed dining, afternoon tea and Mountain Gourmet meals. Outside porch with log furniture. Twenty km (12.5 mi) W of Banff on Hwy 1, find the trailhead at Red Earth Creek parking lot. The trail is 14 km (9mi) to the lodge. Located deep within Banff National Park, Skoki Backcountry Lodge sits on a high alpine ridge—2164 metres (7,100 feet) above sea level. Only accessible by cross country skiing or hiking, the lodge offers a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of Banff's main townsite. Accommodation in the rustic lodge or a cabin, guests may enjoy breakfast, tea, packed lunch and dinner. Surrounding activities include telemarking, fishing, hiking, climbing and trail riding. Receiving its first guests in 1931, Skoki Lodge is today has been commemorated as a National Historic Site. The trail into the lodge begins at Lake Louise Ski Area.
